Maria Bober - Assistant Director

I was born and raised in Detmold, Germany.  German is my first language, Russian is my second, English is my third and I am now learning how to say "Y'all" and "Go Vols!"  I graduated from a University in Germany with a degree in social work, and I've worked in a post-graduate school as an educator. I have a good bit of outdoor experience working for a professional ropes course company and am internationally certified.  While working in Germany,  God gave me the desire to work with children, teenagers, and college students.

The first time I learned about Camp Arrowwood was when I came to work at Wears Valley Ranch in 2011 as a mentor. Summertime is my favorite time of the year, and I got excited about the possibility of working at Camp Arrowwood.  2016 was my first time at Camp Arrowwood where I served as the Leaders in Training Director.  Since that time, I have worked every summer and now call Tennessee my home and serve year-round at Camp Arrowwood as the Assistant Director!  I love the environment of Camp Arrowwood and can't wait to see everyone again this Summer!
